Practicing Good Posture

Trying to teach ourselves good posture isn’t always an easy thing for us to do. Lucky for us there are different techniques that we can learn that will improve our posture and our back health.

First we will start off with learning how to practice better standing posture. Stand with your back flat against a wall and your heels 2 inches away from the wall. Tighten your stomach and look straight in front of you. Slightly expand your chest cavity by lifting up your breastbone. Stay in this position for a few minutes. After the time is up keep in this position and walk to a mirror to check it out.

To practice sitting posture you will begin by sitting with your feet flat on the floor. Find a pillow to support your lower back so that you can allow your back to arch normally. Remember to keep your head, back, and hips perfectly aligned and your hips and knees at the same level. Keep your head straight with your body and do your best not to lean forward.

To practice walking posture you first need to stand up straight and start to walk with your feet pointing straight out in front of you. Remember to align your head, shoulders, back, and hips. Also remember to bend your knees. Most people will lock them in – hurting them and causing you to pass out.
